Sensing & control

Sensor acquisition, calibration and actuator control.

Firmware that processes measurements and uses them to drive defined outputs, with checks against physical inputs.

Connect measurements to physical operation

A sensor reading needs context before it can guide an output. AUBRIX develops the firmware and interfaces between acquisition, processing and control, including unavailable inputs and calibration that no longer matches the hardware.

01

Measurement interpretation

Check units, validity and acquisition order before combining orientation, distance, position or temperature values. Each measurement represents a different physical quantity.

02

Calibration references

Choose reference points that describe the mechanism. Centre position, travel and directional response may require separate treatment rather than a single correction factor.

03

Output conditions

Specify how motors, relays or displays respond to normal inputs, release events and relevant faults. A prototype demonstration does not establish safety.

Engineering process

Project
process.

  1. 01

    Define the measurement and output

Identify the sensor, actuator, operating conditions and response to investigate.

  2. 02

    Review signal processing

Trace raw values through validity checks, filtering, calibration and coordinate or output mapping.

  3. 03

    Implement control logic

Define timing and state transitions. Keep acquisition separate from the decisions that use its results.

  4. 04

    Compare applied inputs and outputs

Relate hardware observations or captures to the applied conditions. Record the setup, results and remaining uncertainty.

Depending on the agreed scope

Project
deliverables.

  • An acquisition and processing sequence
  • Agreed calibration or output-control firmware
  • Input and output checks
  • Documented operating limits and follow-up work

The examples cover prototype and firmware work. Measurement accuracy, operating limits and safety requirements need a validation plan for the intended application.

N64 joystick calibration

The N64 converter maps replacement-stick travel using centre and eight-direction references. Reset persistence remains a follow-up issue.
