Embedded firmware

Firmware for timing, control and calibration.

Embedded logic for sensor inputs, commands and outputs, including startup, stored settings and fault handling.

Embedded C and device control

  • State and timing
  • Calibration
  • Fault handling

Normal operation and exceptional conditions

Startup, held inputs, invalid measurements, lost commands and resets all require defined responses. AUBRIX develops and refines firmware against those requirements, so the implementation can be reviewed and tested against specific input conditions.

01

Nonblocking execution

Long delays can prevent a controller from accepting commands during an animation or motor sequence. Separate state management from timing so those tasks can progress without blocking the command interface.

02

Invalid inputs and recovery

Define when a measurement is usable, how outputs respond when it is unavailable and how normal operation resumes. Missing data should not be presented as a plausible reading.

03

Persistent settings

Specify which settings, calibration values and scripts must survive a restart. Software reset, console reset and full power cycling can follow different paths and need separate checks.

Engineering process

Project
process.

  1. 01

    Specify inputs and outputs

Document expected responses, including startup, release, timeout and recovery cases relevant to the device.

  2. 02

    Inspect the implementation

Compare the code with available captures or hardware observations. Distinguish the reported symptom from its suspected cause.

  3. 03

    Revise the firmware

Implement the required command handling and state transitions. Review timing and resource use against the controller's constraints.

  4. 04

    Test the affected functions

Run the agreed scenarios and record the results. Document remaining issues without presenting a focused correction as a general reliability guarantee.

Depending on the agreed scope

Project
deliverables.

  • Source changes with build and configuration notes
  • State, command or calibration documentation
  • Repeatable functional checks
  • Known limitations and follow-up items

Testing depends on available hardware, access and the agreed assignment. Source inspection is not hardware validation, and a firmware correction alone does not establish production readiness.
