Approach

Engineering review

Technical review of your design.

Investigate a design question or reported fault, with findings linked to the files and observations available.

Design review and diagnosis

  • Technical assessment
  • Evidence review
  • Prioritised recommendations

Review against a specific engineering decision

A review can assess a component choice, PCB layout, firmware path or integration problem. Agree the decision it needs to support, then select the relevant files and checks. Recommendations should identify a justified change or test, not simply list concerns.

01

Symptoms and causes

Treat the reported symptom as a starting point, not proof of its cause. Compare the implementation with available captures or demonstrations before selecting further investigation.

02

Depth of assessment

Layout review, code inspection and hardware testing establish different facts. Choose the depth needed for the question and state what the supplied material cannot establish.

03

Actionable findings

Identify the affected area, its significance and the proposed correction or test. Distinguish defects from preferences, and confirmed issues from questions that need evidence.

Engineering process

Project
process.

  1. 01

    Define the review

Agree the question, files, revisions and reported fault. Confirm whether hardware is available.

  2. 02

    Inspect the relevant design

Trace the circuit or implementation associated with the issue. Keep unrelated areas outside the assignment unless they affect the findings.

  3. 03

    Assess and prioritise

Compare observations with requirements. Identify the smallest useful test or revision that can resolve the uncertainty.

  4. 04

    Present recommendations

Provide prioritised findings, proposed changes and the conditions for checking them. List unresolved items explicitly.

Depending on the agreed scope

Project
deliverables.

  • A review definition and input list
  • Findings linked to the reviewed material
  • Prioritised corrections or tests
  • A recommended course of action

A review is not certification, an exhaustive security audit or a substitute for tests not performed. Conclusions remain limited to the material and conditions examined.
