Circuit and firmware implications
Compare package, supply voltage, current demand, thermal requirements and supporting circuitry. A lower unit price may require more board area, additional parts or firmware changes.
Component selection & sourcing
Compare technical suitability, availability and the implications of substitution before committing parts to a design.
Component evaluation and sourcing review
Component selection starts with the product's interfaces, power, space and software requirements. Sourcing review identifies choices that may constrain a build, with a record of why each part was selected and what a replacement would require.
Compare package, supply voltage, current demand, thermal requirements and supporting circuitry. A lower unit price may require more board area, additional parts or firmware changes.
Check manufacturer status, supplier listings, lead times and minimum quantities when defining the project and again before purchasing or building. Record the date; a review cannot reserve stock.
Compare electrical limits, timing, package details and software compatibility as well as pinout. Keep alternatives marked as candidates until the relevant design and validation checks are complete.
Engineering process
Prioritise controllers, power devices, sensors and connectors whose replacement would significantly affect the design or schedule.
Separate mandatory parameters from preferences. Include the physical and firmware implications of each candidate.
Record sources, dates and quantity assumptions. Flag single-source or uncertain choices before committing to a build.
List approved alternatives and the checks required for further changes. Keep the component list aligned with the design revision.
Depending on the agreed scope
Purchasing, supplier qualification, commercial negotiations and stock commitments are separate responsibilities. AUBRIX does not claim guaranteed availability or supplier partnerships.
Project experience
PCB layout + design review
The amplifier design combines component review with placement, power routing and a nominal 12 V vehicle-supply context.
Project details
Embedded firmware + prototype work
SmartLED illustrates how a small controller's memory and timing limits influence firmware design.
