Firmware and prototype work
An LED command engine on a tiny controller
AbuLou SmartLED brings colour fades, stored scripts and motor patterns to an ATtiny85. The firmware work centres on fitting useful behaviour into a small controller while continuing to handle incoming I2C commands.

The brief
Implement a compact LED and motor command engine within the memory and timing limits of an ATtiny85.
Commands become behaviour
The interface uses BlinkM style I2C commands. Packed command parsing connects the incoming instruction set with RGB and HSV fades, allowing behaviour to be expressed through a compact control interface.
Scripts that persist
EEPROM backed scripts keep programmed behaviour available between sessions. That storage is part of the command engine rather than an external application that must continuously resend every lighting step.
Keep updates moving
Animation and motor updates are organised without long blocking delays. This matters because a fade or motor pattern should not consume the controller's attention at the expense of its command interface. Photographs show the small prototype modules illuminated in different colours.
What the evidence establishes
The project record documents the firmware features and includes photographs of illuminated prototype modules. The scope and status above describe the engineering work; they are not claims of mass production, certification, measured uptime or commercial returns.
